Ironically, I'm not even looking for the right to get married. I don't even think it's all that important for gay people, really. It's all the other stuff that comes attached with marriage that worries me.
And to think they're trying put it in the Constitution.
The gay marraige thing is another story all together, and now that 11 states have made it illegal, more will come forward with it on their ballots in the future and it will be even more widespread.
As for my straight rights thing, I stand behind it.
Homosexuals have to realize that straights want to be able to live their lives the way they want to and that not everyone wants to be, look or act gay. It's a two way street. You cant ask for people to repect you for what you are when you dont respect others for what they are.
I still dont get the whole gay thing. To me it's weird for a man to be attracted to another man, but to each his own. Not my life, I dont care.
That theory that everyone questions their own sexuality at some point in their life is a bunch of bullshit.
Be yourself, whatever that self is. But dont impose your lifestyle on me.
Just say no to "Queer Eyes" my own eyes work just fine for me.

Please read my post above. We straight folks have all the rights we need. When Bob and I moved into this house, no one gave a second thougt to a man and woman living together. TBT though, in THIS neighborhood, if Bob had moved in with a guy, nobody would care.
You don't have to "get" the gay thing. I don't either. I don't "get" a lot of stuff other people do, but I don't think it should be illegal that they do it.
But. since you want to go that way,
I think it should be illegal to use food stamps to buy anything with white sugar or white flour.
I think it should be illegal for people on welfare to have more than one child.
I think people who are morbidly obese should not be treated for that which ails them.

I didnt say I dont like gays, but I did say I have no gay friends. I dont care if people are gay or not, but I dont like the way some homosexuals look down their noses at straight people. It's like they think being gay makes them superior. I dont hate reason, he's an ass a lot of the time, but so what. In reality, in order for gays to attain certain rights we straights generally have to give them to them since we outnumber them by millions.
Homosexuals can adopt, I see no problem with that or with other methods for them to have children, but the fact remains that you have to have the opposite sex involved somehow.
Truth be told, there would be no homosexuals at all if it weren't for reporduction so you could say they owe straight people there lives. I'm sure many homosexuals make great parents, but again, they cant become parents without some involvement (yes even a donation type thing) of the opposite sex.
The issue of gay marraige is dead for now in Ohio. It's part of the state constitution that a marraige is between 1 man and 1 woman. Nothing you can do about it.

Get some gay friends. Listen and understand for a bit before you speak. It't not a catching disease. You'll still be straight after you hoist a pint with them.
I've never know a gay person to look down his/her nose at me because I'm not. EVER. Lots of folks dislike me, but it's not because I'm straight.
Personally, I'd love it if Reason switched teams. He'd be such a match for my oldest... 2 MBAs. And reason is smart.
